Release Notes

The Job Scheduler tool is a new feature in this release. It enables automation of a variety of Geobank Tasks. The scheduling of Jobs is limited to Administrators in this release. Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

The new Logging Integrator App is available for download by AL program members as part of the Professional module. This App is to setup collection-oriented Geobank Mobile logging profiles based on Geobank data with two-way data transfer.

When configuring Imports or Exports, a new option has been added so that the Before Open event can be set to trigger once parameters values have been supplied. This enables messaging or cancellation if values are not appropriate.

Geobank 2021.5 requires databases to be on SQL 2016 or higher and to have a compatibility level of at least 130. An upgrade warning is provided.

Functionality has been added to Configured Imports and Exports to enable them to run in Unattended mode. Configured network folder paths must be fully expanded (do not use mapped drive abbreviations).

Geobank Forms can be run in Unattended mode to execute custom scripts on an automated schedule.

Functionality has been added to Graphic Reports to enable them to print the full report to PDF in Unattended mode. In the Properties, there is a new "Unattended Options" tab - network folder paths must be fully expanded. MS Print to PDF must be installed.

From Geobank 2021.5, standalone Language Pack installers are provided so that translation updates can be made at a time other than when a new software release is available.

The Job List in the Job Scheduler shows details for each of the jobs scheduled on the selected application server (Computer).

Jobs can be scheduled to run on one or more Application servers within your network. They can also be set to run on your local machine. Computer settings can be added, edited or removed.

The Installer adds new tables to the Configuration database for use by the Job Scheduler. These are named: GB.GBxxy_CONFIG_JS_COMPUTER and GB.GBxxy_CONFIG_JS_JOB; where xx is the major version number and y is the minor version number.

In the Job Scheduler Action tab, the 'Clear Substitution Parameters' button removes all parameter values set. It can be used when a Job's task or its parameters have been changed to ensure the correct list is set.

The Job Scheduler UI shows a list of Computers (Application Servers) on the left pane; a list of Jobs for the selected Computer on the top-right pane and a tabulated bottom-right pane that details and allows editing of a selected Job.

Jobs set up to run Geobank in Unattended mode, reference the relevant Configuration database by name. Thus, connection names must be consistent across devices and should not be changed once Jobs are set up. A warning is shown in the connection dialog.

In the LAS Import Wizard mappings step, more detail is now provided if one or more files contain invalid mappings. The files and the multiple codes mapped to the same column are listed. The information can be copied so that the issues can be addressed.

Functionality has been added to Macros to enable them to run in Unattended mode. Please ensure the objects within the macro support Unattended execution.

Micromine's User Experience Improvement Program has been extended to Geobank. As detailed in the EULA, anonymous usage data is captured so we can obtain statistics on relative usage of Geobank functions. Users can opt out.

Fixed an issue where Excel Imports within a Macro were hanging if a particular database provider was used.

An issue in the connector functionality between Plan view and Graphic Reports has been addressed.

Fixed an issue where if 'copy' was used for the substitution parameters when configuring a Data View, all parameters were copied instead of just those selected.

When configuring a Dataset object for use in Forms, the Save prompt now only shows if changes have been made.

In the Form Designer Script panel, the scroll-to-context was not occurring the first time the panel was opened; this has been fixed.

The label for generic number data types when configuring Global Substitution Parameters has been reset to "Numeric" in place of the non-generic term "Float". Underlying behaviour remains as generically suitable for entering numbers.

Previously, if files using the OEM866 (Cyrillic) code page were used in the LAS Import Wizard, the codes were not correctly rendered in the mapping step. This has been fixed.

The Library Explorer error message that occurs when attempting to open Windows File Explorer to a location which cannot be found, has been improved.

Fixed an issue where Geobank was hanging during the execution of multi-task Macros using shared parameters, in the case when one or more of the tasks were de-selected at run-time.

The Properties dialog box used when configuring a Plan View has been rearranged, to avoid the dialog being too tall for certain monitors.

More detailed information is now written into the log file when attempting to run an unsupported object-type in unattended mode.

Fixes have been made to the way comments ('--' & '/*..*/') in custom SQL scripts are handled during execution to avoid misidentification of comment syntax.

Source folders for objects can be excluded when using the Configuration Import tool. An error was occurring if this was done for Global Parameters; this has been fixed.

When a Correlation Diagram/Section View referencing Colour Sets but not referencing a Symbology was being opened from Plan View, a hidden error was occurring. This has been fixed.
