Import formats

The options under the File | Import menu allow you to import or append data from the following sources:

Menu Option Format Ext. Description
ODBC Various Various A Data Source Name (DSN) is used to connect and import from an ODBC data source.
Microsoft Access Microsoft Access Database mdb Microsoft Access Database Format.
Text Text csv, tab, txt Column or comma delimited text files.
DXF DXF dxf

AutoCAD DXF (Drawing eXchange File).

Vector (CAD/GIS/GPS) Data Various Various Import point, line, and point data stored in a variety of third-party CAD, GIS, and GPS formats.

  VULCAN 00t Vulcan triangulation file.
  ASCII txt Space delimited text file.
  Microsoft Access mdb Microsoft Access Database.
  Micromine dat Micromine Block Model Data File.
  Surpac dtm Surpac 3D Image File
Block Model Text txt When you set the input type to DATAMINE or GEMCOM, the function expects a text-based block model file.
  Text str, obs When you set the input type to SURPAC, the function expects a text file with a STR or OBS extension...
  Binary mdl Or a SURPAC binary file with an MDL extension.
Grid (raster) Data Various Various Import a variety of third-party Grid file formats and convert them to Micromine Grid (*.GRD) file format.
Surpac Strings Text str GEMCOM Surpac String File.
MapGIS Text wal, wat Import data in a MapGIS line (.WAL) or point (.WAT) file. MapGIS is a GIS package developed by the Zondy Cyber Group and is widely used in China.
DEM Text dem Import a Digital Elevation Model ( China Standard Transfer Format) data file. The grid data is stored from north to south and from west to east, as a text file.
dBase dbase dbf dBase Database Format.
