Slope Restrictions

Use the Slope Restrictions dialog to define bearing and slope angle definitions for each pit slope region. You can use the buttons on the grid list toolbar (or use the right-click menu) to Manage the rows in the list.

The Lerchs–Grossmann algorithm can make use of variable slope angles in order to derive a truly optimal pit. Small changes in slope angle within each region can change the amount of waste to be removed, and have a significant effect on the degree of selectivity in mining operations.

It is often desirable to change slope angles for geotechnical reasons, or to allow for changes in rock type.

Bearing

The direction in degrees (0 to 359.99), clockwise, from the positive Y direction.

Slope Angle

The overall pit slope in degrees (0.01 to 89.99) from the horizontal.
