Export Vizex Scene to AutoCAD File
Select View | Export Vizex Scene to | AutoCAD (or click the Export to AutoCAD button on the View toolbar) to export the current Vizex scene to CAD (.DWG, .DXF, .DXB) file format. Each display layer is written to a separate CAD layer.
Name
Double-click (F3) in the name box to select the name of the output file. If you select an existing file, the file will be overwritten.
Type
One of the following output file types can be selected:
Type |
Description |
---|---|
DWG | AutoCAD Drawing Database File. |
DXF | AutoCAD Drawing Exchange Format. DXF is an ASCII version of a .DWG file. |
Note that the import of DXF files containing 3D Face information is not supported by the File | Import | DXF function. However, the Import DXF function detects the presence of 3D face information and displays a message that prompts the user to use the File | Import | Wireframes (with Input Type = DXF) option instead. | |
DXB | AutoCAD Drawing Exchange Binary Format. DXB is the binary version of a .DXF file. DXB files are smaller and load faster than DXF files. |
Invert blacks
Since AutoCAD often displays white lines and labels on a black background, the option to invert blacks to white when exporting colours is provided. Selecting this option may ensure that exported text and line features are visible in AutoCAD.
Options
By default the Full 3D scene is exported. If clipping limits have been set, select the Clipped 2D option to exclude data outside the clipping region.
Forms
Click the Forms button to select and open a saved form set, or if a form set has been loaded, save the current form set.
OK
Finally, click OK to begin the export process.
