Saving and loading a window layout

The layout of windows, panes, and toolbars that you have opened, resized and repositioned, can be saved as a layout. This makes it possible for multiple users, or a single user with multiple layouts, to save and load a preferred window layout.

At any time, the application's default layout can be restored.

Save

To save the current layout:

  1. Select the Window | Layout | Save menu option.
  2. In the Save As dialog, navigate to the folder location where the file will be saved and enter (or select) the name of the file. If you select an existing file it will be overwritten.

    3. A layout can be saved as an XML file with a .mmlayout file extension.

  1. Click Save.

Load

To load a saved layout:

  1. Select the Window | Layout | Load menu option.
  2. In the Open dialog, navigate to the folder location where the file is located and select the name of the file.
  3. Click Open.

Restore

To restore the application's default window layout:

  1. Select the Window | Layout | Restore Default menu option.
