Dip and Dip Direction

Dip is the inclination between a line or plane and the horizontal (always measured Down).

Dip Direction is an angle between 0 and 360 degrees (0= North, 90 = East). Dip is a positive value between 0 and 90.

A plane with a dip of zero and a dip direction of zero is horizontal and perfectly valid.
