Attach a lookup table

To attach a lookup table to a field:

  1. Open a file in the editor.
  2. Position the cursor in the field to which the lookup table is attached.
  3. Select Format | Lookup Tables | Attach from the menu.

To detach a lookup table:

  1. Position the cursor in the field to which the lookup table is attached.
  2. Select Format | Lookup Tables | Detach from the menu. 

One of the features of lookup tables is that they can be locked to a file. When a lookup table is locked to a file, it cannot be detached.

If a file with lookup tables is opened and a linked lookup file is missing, you are given the option to browse for the missing lookup file or drop the lookup table for that column. If more than one lookup file is missing, you also have the option of dropping ALL missing lookup tables.
