Reference Plot Frame

A Reference Plot Frame is a plot frame which is referenced by another frame. The most common reason to reference one frame from another is to use the data, scale, orientation, or extent of a plot frame as a reference for:

The reference plot frame and the parent frame of a frame can be, but are not necessarily, the same. A North Arrow may be the child of one plot, for example, but reference the rotation of a different plot.

Validation is performed to ensure that there are no circular references, i.e. if Plot A references Plot B, Plot B cannot reference Plot A.
