Tools

Tools applicable to surface drill/blasthole design are available on the Mining | Surface Drill/Blast Design tab:

On the Mining | Surface Drill/Blast Design tab, in the Create group, you can do the following:

Create

  • Click New/Open to create and display a blasthole design.

  • Click Blast Design Pattern Manager to browse the blasthole databases in the current project or another location.

  • Click Import Blast Polygons to create a blasthole pattern within the bounds of a polygon, for example a dig block polygon or blast master.

  • The Import Blast Polygon icon

  • Click Select Blast Polygons to interactively select closed polygons from which to create blocks for the blast design.

  • The Select Blast Polygon icon

Hole Types

  • Click Edit Hole Types to create and edit hole types and their properties in the Hole Types Library.

    The Edit Hole Types icon

Edit Drillhole Patterns

On the Mining | Surface Drill/Blast Design tab, in the Edit Drillhole Patterns group, you can do the following:

  • Click Drillhole Pattern to create blastholes in a specified pattern. In the Create Blast Pattern form, you can specify the boundary of the pattern area, the row direction, and the spacing and the burden of the holes within it.

  • Click Add Row to open the Add Hole form and configure the details and location for the holes along the new row. If a blasthole design layer is not already set as the active layer, the Select Active Layer dialog is opened by default.

  • Click Insert Hole to open the Add Hole form and set the details and location for the holes to be added to the blast design.

  • Click Delete to delete a selected a selected blast design object.

  • The Delete icon

Modify

On the Mining | Surface Drill/Blast Design tab, in the Modify group, you can do the following:

  • Click Copy/Move (or use the option on the right-click menu) to copy or move the selected blasthole row by a specified distance.

  • Click Clip to clip blasthole lengths to a reference wireframe.

  • Click Extend to extend blasthole lengths to a reference wireframe.

  • Select Adjust to Wireframe | Adjust to Elevation to extend or clip the length of selected holes to a specified elevation or a fixed depth.

  • Select Adjust to Wireframe | Adjust to Wireframe to extend or clip blastholes using a reference wireframe.

View

On the Mining | Surface Drill/Blast Design tab, in the View group you can do the following:

  • Use the Filter drop down to select a configured filter for the blasthole design view in Vizex.

  • Use the Active Block drop down to select an active block from the blasthole design to be viewed in Vizex.

  • Click Filter Setup to create and configure Simple and Expression based filters to use with the blasthole design in Vizex.

  • The Filter Setup icon

Charging

On the Mining | Surface Drill/Blast Design tab, in the Charging group, you can do the following:

  • Click Firing Sequence to use the mouse to interactively define one or more firing sequence lines.

  • Click Firing Sequence Options to set up surface connectors and charge groups to use in firing sequences.

Reporting

On the Mining | Surface Drill/Blast Design tab, in the Reporting group, you can do the following:
