Options
On the Options tab of the Centreline to Solid form you can choose to generate a single wireframe, or split the output wireframes generated from each polygon or segment.
Split Wireframes
Select the Split Wireframes check box if you want to generate multiple wireframes (rather than a single wireframe containing all solids from all polygons).
One wireframe per polyline
Select this option to generate a separate wireframe per polygon.
One wireframe per segment
Select this option to generate a separate wireframe per string segment.
Split by parts
Select this option to generate multiple output wireframes where the length of each wireframe is derived by dividing the total length of each string in the Input file by the specified number of parts.
Split by length
Select this option to generate multiple output wireframes where the length of each wireframe is based on a specified length.
The last output wireframe generated from each string in the Input file may be shorter than the specified length (if it is not possible to generate an output of the specified length from the remainder).
Profile Orientation
If you have chosen to Output one wireframe per segment, or you have chosen to Close the ends of the output wireframe, the orientation you select will be used to cut or close each output wireframe.
If you have chosen not to Output one wireframe per segment, note that the orientation you select will still have an influence on the result, since it defines the orientation of the end of the single wirerame and the orientation of the connection between segments.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Perpendicular |
The output wireframe will be cut perpendicular to the centre line. |
Note: This option is recommended for strings with a spiral configuration, such as a decline tunnel, for example. The Auto option (see below) is more suitable for strings which are horizontal or vertical, rather than in-between. |
|
Vertical |
The output wireframe will be cut vertically, irrespective of the orientation of the centre line. This option is more suited to lateral tunnels such as crosscuts or drifts. |
Horizontal |
The output wireframe will be cut horizontally, irrespective of the orientation of the centre line. This option is more suited to vertical tunnels such as shafts or air rises. |
Auto |
The orientation at which the output wireframe is cut will be chosen automatically, based upon the orientation of the segments of the centre line. |
Close ends of output wireframe
When extruding a closed polyline (or polygon), select this option to use the specified Profile Orientation to close the ends of the extrusion.
Prevent volume duplication
This option is only enabled when both the Split Wireframes and the Close ends of output wireframes check box options are selected. Select this check box to discard duplicate volumes from intersecting solids.
