Password Protection

When you work with Logging Profiles In Geobank Mobile you can set two kinds of password protection: A Profile password and a Master password (see below).

To save your password settings, save and sync your changes to the profile!

Profile password

When you edit a Logging Profile, a button on the Edit Profile toolbar (ALT + L) allows you to set a Profile password:

The next time you or another user attempts to edit the profile, the Profile password must be entered:

To reset the password, simply select the same Profile Password option from the tool menu. This time you will be prompted to enter the old password and then enter and confirm a new password:

To clear a password, simply enter the old password and leave the other prompts blank.

Master password

If a Logging Profile has been synced (and a connection is active) you can set a Master password (ALT + P) which allows you to take ownership of synced data. When a Master password is set:

  • A Delete option is enabled to the right of each profile listed in the Download Logging Profile dialog. This option will delete the profile from the server.
  • The synced data in an open profile may also be unlocked (made editable) and then locked again using a Lock/Unlock button on the Toolbar Ribbon.

Before you can delete a profile on the server, or unlock the synced data in an open profile, you will be required to enter the Master password:

Setting and clearing a Master password works exactly as described for the Profile password (see above).
