Profile Details
On the PROFILE DETAILS page of the Edit Logging Profile screen you can modify the Name and the Description of the profile, and set the following administrator options:
Always Validate
When the Always validate option is selected by an administrator, validation cannot be toggled on and off for a table when data is being edited.
Always unapprove non-exported Parent row when adding or approving child rows
When this option is selected by an administrator, where possible, parent rows will be unapproved when changes occur to their child records.
Use this option if your work practice is to manage the approval process through parent records. In other words, you have instructed your loggers to check their logging and then approve the Collar record and all related down-hole data, such as samples or geology.
This option makes it easy for your users to see which collars need their attention (and thus approval) because as soon as any new work on a collar is done. such as adding new rows in a child table, the parent reverts to "unapproved". When they are ready, users can then approve the parent again.
This option does not affect the export step - once a row has been exported (handed-over) this option will not unapprove it
By implication, applying this option enforces child rows to be approved (if valid) when a parent is approved.
This option does not affect reference data tables.
This option will, if necessary, unapprove a parent row not owned by the current user - this will then allow the owner to re-approve it with its child rows, at a later date.
This profile level option will override the user-level setting in the general options for prompting for nested approval. If this option is selected, the user-level setting is ignored.
Lock Layouts
When the Lock layouts option is selected by an administrator, the layout of the profile (the position and size of the data view windows), and the layout of the tables (the display order of the columns) cannot be altered by the user.
Synchronisation
You can also synchronise the data that is logged on the device with the data stored in a server database. See: Synchronisation Setup
