Templates Toolbar

To add a template object to your report from the Template toolbar:

  1. Click on a template button and drag and drop it onto the current design sheet.
  2. When you drag and drop a template object onto the current design sheet, the property editor of the template object is displayed. You can adjust the position and size of the object and set other properties.

  1. When you click OK, the object is shown on the design sheet and is listed in the Templates list to the left of the design sheet tabs.
  2. To quickly reposition an object, hold down the ALT key as you drag the object with the mouse. You can also use the tools provided on the Designer Toolbar to manipulate the objects you have added:

The templates you have added to a design sheet are available for selection in a Templates list to the left of the design sheet tabs. You can also select them interactively using the selection tools on the toolbar:

Click the Select button to cancel the current edit mode (if any) and use the Select cursor to select one or more objects in the design sheet. You can use the CTRL key or the SHIFT key with the mouse to select multiple objects.
  Once selected, you can interactively resize multiple objects by dragging their extents with the Select pointer.

Click the Select Templates Within Area button to use the mouse to draw a selection rectangle on the design sheet. All objects that intersect with the selection rectangle are selected.

Click the Select All button to select all objects in the design sheet.

Click the Invert Selection button to invert the selection of the objects in the design sheet and the list of templates.

The following template object types can be added to a drawing:

Click the Frame button to drag and drop a frame onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the frame and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Frame.

Click the Text Label button to drag and drop a text label onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the text label and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Text Label.

Click the Text Label Hyperlink button to drag and drop a text label hyperlink onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the label hyperlink and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Text Label Hyperlink.

Click the Field Label button to drag and drop a field label onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the label and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Field Label.

Click the Field Label Hyperlink button to drag and drop a field label hyperlink onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the label hyperlink and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Field Label Hyperlink.
Click the Date Label button to drag and drop a date label onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the label and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Date Label.

Click the Page Number button to drag and drop a page number frame onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the page number frame and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Page Number.

The Horizontal Scale Bar control button The Horizontal Scroll Bar control is used to add a scale to your report in horizontal format. You can configure the scaling type and various display parameters for the scale bar. See: Property Editor: Scale Bar .
The Vertical Scale Bar control button The Vertical Scale Bar control is used to add a scale to your report in vertical format. You can configure the scaling type and various display parameters for the scale bar. See: Property Editor: Scale Bar.

Click the Point Graph button to drag and drop a point graph onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the graph and set other point graph properties.

Click the Line Graph button to drag and drop a line graph onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the graph and set other line graph properties.
Click the Bar Graph button to drag and drop a bar graph onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the graph and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Bar Graph.
Click the Text Column button to drag and drop a text column onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the column and set other Property Editor: Text Column.
Click the Text Table button to drag and drop a text table onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the table and set other Property Editor: Text Table.

Click the Graphic Column button to drag and drop a graphic column onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the column and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Graphic Column.

Click the Pivot Column button to drag and drop a pivot column onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the column and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Pivot Column.

Click the Event Column button to drag and drop an event column onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the column and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Event Graphic Column.

Click the Code Legend button to drag and drop a code legend onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the legend and set other properties.

Click the Numeric Legend button to drag and drop a numeric legend onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the legend and set other properties.

Click the Static Image button to drag and drop a static image onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the image and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Static Image.

Click the Dynamic Image button to drag and drop a dynamic image onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the image and set other properties. See: Property Editor: Dynamic Image.

Click the Scaled Image button to drag and drop a scaled image onto the current design sheet. You can adjust the position and size of the image and set other Property Editor: Scaled Image.

Click the Subreport button to embed a subreport into a report. If substitution parameters are defined in the subreport, they will be prompted for when the parent report is executed. See: Property Editor: Subreport.
